In McMinn County, Mayor John Gentry said 20 persons were injured in storms overnight, but there were no fatalities in the Athens, Tenn. area.
Gentry said the worst damage in McMinn Conty appears to be in the Highway 307 corridor.
A shelter has been set up for persons displaced by the storm at the Keith Memorial United Methodist Church.
