A 40-year-old Belgian competitor won Sunday's Little Debbie Ironman Chattanooga.
Marino Vanhoenacker finished in an official time of 8:12:22.
Jeff Symonds of Canada finished second. Matt Russell, an American, was the third finisher.
Nearly 2,200 men and women were started the event, which is the third full Ironman that Chattanooga has hosted.
Competitors have until midnight to finish the race, which consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 116-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run.
Vanhoenacker, Symonds and Russell were among 25 professional competitors in the field.
While there were no professional females in Sunday's race, Canada's Richele Frank took top honors among female athletes with a finishing time 10:23:43.
Germany's Brigitte Paulick was second, with a time of 10:26:53. American Lori Sherlock of West Virginia was third with a time of 10:31:02.
The youngest competitor was a local 18-year-old. The oldest participant was 80.
