Girls Preparatory School Athletic Director Stacey Gene Hill was arrested Wednesday night in an undercover prostitution sting in Dalton, Ga.

An officer posed as a prostitute while investigators placed an ad online, and Hill, 59, responded to the ad and agreed to meet with the undercover officer at an apartment, according to a statement from the Dalton Police Department.

Hill, who has worked at GPS for decades, has since been temporarily "relieved of his duties" at GPS according to a news release from the school.

"We are in the process of gathering information surrounding the incident that has been reported," the release said. "Per school policy in matters such as this, Mr. Hill has been temporarily relieved of his duties, both on campus and off."

"At the present time, this is a legal matter between Mr. Hill and the Dalton, GA authorities, and it would not be appropriate for GPS to comment further."

Eight people were arrested in the sting Wednesday night and charged with pandering, a misdemeanor.

Bruce Frazier, a spokesman for the police department, said the arrests all happened around the same time Wednesday night. He declined to say where the ad was posted or where the men met the undercover officer.

Those arrested were:

  • Banner Anibal Tomas-Bail, 27
  • Oscar Holliday, 28
  • Joseph Brandt, 33
  • Muhammed Rasheed, 63
  • Kyle Michael Chadwick, 28
  • Mark John Gibson, 41
  • Stacey Gene Hill, 59
  • Miguel Jarquin-Ordaz, 39
