UPDATE: Chattanooga police bomb squad finds no threat in suspicious package at Driver Services Center

Chattanooga police responded to a report of a suspicious package near the state's Driver Services Center on Bonny Oaks Drive.

The report of a suspicious package came in around 10:15 a.m. today in the 6500 block of Bonny Oaks Drive. The management of the center evacuated the building until police arrived.

The police department's bomb squad cleared the immediate area and treated the package as a threat until it could be confirmed otherwise. They determined the package was innocuous and released the scene.

The package was turned over the to Tennessee Highway Patrol since the state of Tennessee owns the center.
