The Chattanooga Fire Department save a burning home this evening.

Quick firefighter response was key in preventing a living room fire from consuming a residence located at 80 Dowlen Road, department spokesman Bruce Garner said in an email.

Firefighters with Engine 22, backed up by three other fire companies, responded to the fire, which was reported at 6:45 p.m.

No one was home when firefighters arrived and saw light smoke coming from the residence, Battalion Chief Chris Warren said. They forced their way in and extinguished the flames.
