A 17-year-old Florida girl visiting friends in Chattanooga was injured in a rope swing accident at Denny's point near the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Saturday afternoon.

Several teenagers were cliff jumping and rope swinging at the location. They told first responders the girl was swinging, let go and plunged into the water. At that point, she went unconscious, according to witnesses.

Several people at the scene jumped in and pulled the girl to a nearby boat. They took her to Shady Grove Marina where Dallas Bay volunteer firefighters were waiting. She was then taken to a local hospital.
