Power restored to all but about 100 customers, EPB says

UPDATE: In the aftermath of storms Monday afternoon, EPB technicians were working as quickly as possible to restore power to about 100 customers who remained without power as of 10 p.m., according to a news release.

EPB system operators prevented or minimized disruptions for more than 11,000 homes and businesses that would have otherwise experienced a lasting outage, the release states.

ORIGINAL STORY: In the aftermath of storms this afternoon, EPB is working to restore power to about 1,300 customers in the Chattanooga area as of 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Chattanooga's smart grid prevented lasting outages by automatically restoring service to 11,000 other homes and businesses, according to a news release.
