Part of Highway 27 South near Soddy-Daisy was closed Thursday night after semi truck fire

A portion of Highway 27 southbound was closed near Soddy-Daisy after a semi-trailer truck caught fire Thursday night, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation's traffic website.

The cargo fire was between Hixson Pike and mile marker 17.

The incident was reported about 9:50 and was cleared by about 11:30 p.m., according to the TDOT website.
