ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says an abducted 9-year-old girl and her uncle are thought to be in an "isolated area" such as a campground or state park.

A TBI statement on Friday says that's because there's been no credible sightings of 9-year-old Carlie Marie Trent of Rogersville since she was signed her out of school under false pretenses Wednesday by her non-custodial uncle, 57-year-old Gary Simpson. Authorities say an Amber Alert issued Thursday remains active and a warrant for kidnapping has been issued for Simpson.

Carlie is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 4 feet, 8 inches tall and 75 pounds. Simpson is a white male, with brown hair and eyes. Police say he is balding, stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 157 pounds.

They are believed to be traveling in a white van with a Tennessee registration of 173GPS.

There is an award of up to $2,500 for information leading to the safe return of Carlie, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals.

Anyone with information in the case should call 800-TBI-FIND.
