Police chase ends in wreck

A man who stole a vehicle from Chattanooga was chased by Red Bank police until his car struck a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office vehicle, officials said.

According to Red Bank Police Department spokesman Sgt. Dan Knight, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic offense in the 3000 block of Dayton Boulevard.

Police chased the suspect's vehicle through Hixson and then back to the 5900 block of Dayton Boulevard, where the suspect hit a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office vehicle.

Police charged Keith Parker, 29, with stolen auto charges, along with felony evading arrest and reckless endangerment, Sgt. Knight said.

Detectives from Red Bank Police, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and Chattanooga Police Department are interviewing the suspect for other possible offenses, he said.
