The Chattanooga Times Free Press won nine awards in the Tennessee Associated Press Managing Editors journalism contest.
Awards were announced in Nashville over the weekend. The Times Free Press won:
* First place, features reporting, Joan Garrett, for "Hard like Nails."
* Third place, daily deadline reporting, Chris Carroll, for a jailhouse interview story with accused murderer Antonio Henry.
* First and third places, video, Patrick Smith, for "Echoes from the Fog" and "Heart & Desire Winner."
* Second place, multimedia, Patrick Smith and Tracey Trumbull, "Amazon by the Numbers."
* Third place, multimedia, photo staff, for the weekly Moment feature.
* Second place, feature photography, Tim Barber, "A Quiet Glide."
* Third place, sports photography, John Rawlston, "All Tied Up."
* First place, photojournalism, Allison Kwesell, "Haiti Earthquake."
