IF YOU GO

What: Interfaith Service of Healing

When: 3-4 p.m. Sunday

There is only one thing people who want to attend an Interfaith Service of Healing at Olivet Baptist Church this Sunday need to have in common: A desire to overcome domestic violence.

An estimated 2,500 domestic violence incidents are reported each year in Hamilton County, and they make up about 52 percent of all assault cases in Hamilton County, according to data released by the Coalition Against Domestic & Community Violence.

The coalition is planning the prayer and healing service to acknowledge and honor victims of domestic violence in the Chattanooga area for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which takes place in October.

The group welcomes victims and any loved ones of victims to participate.
