Congressional candidate speaking at JFK

Dr. Mary Headrick, a Democratic candidate for the 3rd Congressional District, will speak at the JFK Club on Monday.

Headrick is a Maynardvillle physician who is competing with Democratic candidate Bill Taylor in the August primary.

The JFK Club is a local arm of the Democratic Party.

The club meets at Blue Orleans Restaurant at the corner of Market and Main streets.

The buffet is $11 and vegetarian options are available.

Agri-Plex all-call

The Friends of The Agri-Plex, a group that wants to create a dirt-floored agricultural events facility in the greater Chattanooga area, will meet Saturday for a cookout at the Hullander farm.

The event is open to "all equestrians, ranchers, farmers and animal lovers." Those interested can call 423-894-1687, Ext. 3, or 423-595-7070 for more information.
