Two shootings in Chattanooga under investigation

Chattanooga police are investigating two Wednesday-morning shootings.

Police were called to the Kangaroo gas station at 4900 Brainerd Road shortly after 2:30 a.m., where they learned that 18-year-old Emmanuel Harris had been shot. He was taken to a hospital and is listed in stable condition, police spokesman Nathan Hartwig said in a news release.

About an hour later, a Chattanooga police officer was flagged down by George Dillard, 22, and Alisha Twitty, 24, on Rossville Boulevard. Police said Dillard had been shot several times and Twitty had minor injuries to her face.

Both were taken to a hospital and are listed in stable condition, Hartwig said. Investigators found that the original incident occurred at 4107 Fagan St. and believe that Dillard was targeted by an unknown suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
