Don't believe it if you hear that people don't value emergency responder services. A community showed extraordinary support for the men and women of Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department. Ten-plus days of fighting fire and protecting residences with assistance from other departments was rewarded with an outpouring of supplies and services never expected.
Daily donations of food, water, power drinks, cooking utensils and hygiene supplies for overnight firefighters poured into the station. Residents cooked, cleaned and did anything needed or asked to ease the burden of 24/7 support.
Words will never be enough to adequately express the gratitude and awe we experienced during this difficult time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! It is a privilege and honor to be part of their team.
