In general, federal tax dollars are not supposed to be used to perform abortions.
That is as it should be. The Supreme Court never should have imposed abortion "rights" in its Roe v. Wade ruling, and clearly taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize abortion.
It is also perfectly reasonable that the U.S. House of Representatives recently approved a bill that would forbid federal tax dollars to be used for teaching physicians to perform that horrible procedure.
It is unfortunate that the Democrat-run Senate almost certainly will kill the bill and that President Barack Obama would undoubtedly veto it even if it should somehow make it through both houses of Congress.
Nevertheless, Republicans in the House were right to try to keep American taxpayers from having to pay for the training involved in killing babies through abortion.
That sort of "education" is hardly an appropriate use of government funds.
