Many shouldn't be casting stones
To all who are so judgmental of Dr. Scott DesJarlais, I ask what you would do in the same situation? If you haven't experienced something similar, you don't know. I believe that most anyone could have made the same mistake.
I believe Dr. DesJarlais was only using the abortion issue to prove the lady was not pregnant.
How often do we read about ministers, presidents, governors, teachers and other important people getting caught up in affairs?
It would be interesting to know how many doctors have had relationships with their patients.
Eric Stewart and others who are prone to criticize should read Chapter 8 of the Gospel of John and then decide if they should be casting stones.
Most importantly, Dr. DesJarlais has stood by his promises. He has worked hard, represented his people well, and kept them informed. People in District 4 would be wise to elect him again.

Voting for Obama doesn't please God
Christians should vote. The choice is between a bad person with some principles (Mitt Romney) and an evil person with no principles (President Obama).
Obama supports taxpayer funding of abortion all nine months, supports same-sex marriage, and is disrespectful to, and unwilling to stand with, Israel. Historian David Barton, who has studied all the past presidents, said, "The hostility of President Obama toward biblical faith and values is without equal from any previous American president!"
Christians vote for the candidate most pleasing to God who will cause God to send the least judgment upon our country. God will hold all Americans accountable for the evil actions of our political leaders. When President Obama said our policy is to divide Jerusalem, seven hours later the city of Joplin, Mo., was destroyed by a tornado. When President Obama declared June "Homosexual Pride Month," a drought started resulting in the highest price for corn and soybeans in history.
President Obama said when he didn't know he was being recorded he would "have more flexibility" after the election. There's reason to believe Obama will do even greater evil after the election!
Voting our Christian faith, convictions and principles is our duty to God and can save lives!

Conservative paper needed
I think it is obvious to all who are trying to stay informed that the Chattanooga Times Free Press no longer gives a balanced view of liberal and conservative causes. Editorials, format and headlines all reveal this.
What a wonderful time for a conservative daily paper. Subscriptions would be tremendous and advertisements would make for a sound financial base once the paper is up and running.

Restrict campaign funding by area
I believe that we need an amendment to the Constitution relating to campaign funding.
I envision something like this:
Anyone running for office can receive funds only from the area they are seeking to represent: U. S. House only from that district. Senate only from that state. President only from the U.S.A.
Funds from PACs could only be received from PACs in the areas cited above, and these PACs would have to document that all of the funds provided came only from the area specified above.
So-called super PACs would have to maintain a complete listing of all contributors and would be limited to candidates' jurisdiction.
All campaign ads would be required to contain only truthful statements with the documentation available for review by all persons interested.
I believe that this would help bring some sanity back to our election process.

Negative portrayals are voting turn-off
Just wondering: Do you believe as I that the more a candidate's minions insist on portraying the opponent negatively, using words similar to "liar" and "murderer," it is more of a turn-off than anything that ingratiates that person with prospective voters.
I was at a point that when I was undecided, those kinds of slurs would have convinced me that I don't want that person leading "my" country for four years or four days.
I am also against the expression that everyone should vote. I say that an intelligent, well-thought-out selection should not be canceled out by one that is merely following a line of thought as one sheep following the flock, because that candidate looks nice, or talks louder, or has influential friends.
I'm glad I cast my ballot on the first day of early voting, otherwise I may have stayed home on Nov. 6. In other words, I am urging everyone to cast your vote for the candidate who is not so negative that it clouds the message put forth by that person. Bear in mind the winner will be placed in the unenviable position that he will be leader of the free world.

Both candidates rely on errors
Several seasoned librarians where I work told me about www.FactCheck.org. The site provides feedback about the three recent debates concerning the accuracy or lack thereof regarding what was said. Everything is fully documented (much like a research paper) and corrections are supplied.
Both of our esteemed candidates and their running mates need to hire real researchers, so that they don't continue to share incorrect data/facts. It is incredible to see the misinformation which each believes to be correct. In light of this -- it is sad that they resorted to such antics, which in essence, were backed by errors.
It appears to me that this is a poor indicator of the education they received, and that they actually hold degrees.

Endorsement is appalling
Where is Lee Anderson when we need him. The idea that the supposedly conservative editorial page of the Times Free Press would endorse a third-party candidate is appalling. We have a wonderful opportunity to elect Mitt Romney, a brilliant, experienced, moral man. I pray daily that the Lord will be merciful and allow us to elect the Romney/Ryan ticket to get our beloved country back on the right track.

God, the judge, won't bless nation
Most of the time people are concerned about the economy (with good reason). But has anyone stopped and thought that even if a president had a good plan to bring our debt down, that God (the God that this nation was founded on), will not bless this nation? Not when millions of babies are aborted. The homosexual agenda has been accepted as normal. I'd like to ask, does anyone really think God will bless us? Why should He? I know, I know, God is so full of grace. But He is also a judge!
