More than a year ago, Robert Gustafson came up with a great idea to help out Chattanooga's Humane Educational Society. His idea was to have a race and a mutt strut in St. Elmo to help raise money for the shelter. Well, he did it. The event was called A Christmas Tail, and Robert's love of St. Elmo and animals was a tale that came true. Participants were able to strut with a shelter animal up for adoption and raise money at the same time. A simple idea will now become an annual event.

Thank you, Robert, for teaching us all a lesson of persistence and caring. Tis the season for good news. There's plenty of it around!
