My parents were shopping in Chickamauga when a lady approached their vehicle with a note. When she saw my mother in the car, she gave it to her instead. The note read: "Dear Vietnam vet, Thank you for your service. I'm proud of you, too! Maggie."
My father has a bumper sticker that says "Vietnam vet and damn proud of it."
He said it gave him a great feeling knowing someone else appreciated the job he did while over there. He just wanted the woman to know that he received the note and wanted to thank her for acknowledging him and the service of our veterans.
