Finally embracing Democrats' La-La Land

After spending decades of devotion to advancing in the business environment, culminating with 20-plus years of running my own company with reasonable success, I have come to realize that my path has led me in the wrong direction.

I believed that hard work, with guidance from the Almighty, resulted in my accomplishments, but I finally accept the fact that everything was a gift from the government.

I now will move forward believing everything I am told by my president. I believe his lieutenants were appointed based upon their qualifications. He has the right to enforce executive orders.

Terrorists should be unnamed and should be provided jobs and perhaps even free medical care for themselves, their concubines and their junior terrorists. Add oil to the coal ban, and a pipeline won't even be an issue.

I believe the Iranians are honest. Reveal our strategic plans to our enemies before their commencement.

I deeply admire Hillary, Kerry, Holder, Biden, Michael Moore and the Rev. Sharpton.

I realize, as a new convert joining the gentle masses, I have much more to learn and embrace. I will appreciate any guidance from my new, more cultivated comrades in La-La Land.

Coppinger urged to find the money

Kudos to the Creative Discovery Museum for proposing an early development center in Alton Park; helping as many as 400 children living in a mostly poor and black community; providing stimulation and learning experiences during the first three years of life (a crucial time for optimal brain development) to children who without this help start life in kindergarten well behind those children from higher income areas.

The county mayor says he supports what the Creative Discovery Museum is trying to do but can't find the $500,000 to help -- out of a budget of $672 million?

Come on, Mayor. I bet you could enlist the support of the county commissioners, all of whom know the need for improved education, especially in our poorest communities.

This is a great opportunity to make meaningful progress in helping to educate our most vulnerable citizens. Nothing is more important.
