The Hamilton Place Rotary Club has a program that puts new books into four local elementary schools. Members of the club donate money for the books. The books are purchased by the club and are signed by the speakers of the weekly meetings. The books are then taken to the schools and added to their libraries.
The schools that currently benefit from the book program are Apison Elementary, Westview Elementary, East Brainerd Elementary and Bess T. Shepherd. To date, between 125 and 150 books have been donated and delivered to these schools. The 2,000 students, grades K-5 in these schools, are the beneficiaries of this wonderful program.
