Lawmakers wasted time on state gun

It's nice to know we can all rest easy now. Our state legislators can't come up with a solution on funding for schools, health care for the poor or much needed road/highway repairs. But that's OK, because we now have an "Official State Gun!" Is this really what we elected and pay these people to do?

Patterson deserves support for judge

I would like to recommend Boyd Patterson for Criminal Court judge. I have known him for many years and have always found him to be a man of honesty and integrity.

I know Boyd to be an effective and dedicated leader in our community. His forward thinking, along with his innovative ideas, will serve not only to remove criminals from our streets but also to prevent crime and help redirect potential felons.

Please give Boyd your consideration.

Tom Greenholtz is the 'real deal'

It is with much pleasure we publicly endorse Tom Greenholtz for election as Hamilton County Criminal Court judge. We have known Tom and his wife, Kate, and their two children for eight years. Tom is a man of consistent high character and impeccable integrity. He is a man who honors his commitment to the law and embraces this love with fairness and consideration for all. His extensive background in law, judicial experience and joyful commitment to making Chattanooga a better place to live for all speak to his established ability to lead.

He is a good man who adores his wife and family. He's the real deal. We cannot say enough about Tom Greenholtz! We are thankful for his service to the community we love. Let's keep Tom as Criminal Court judge.

Chattanooga 2.0 needs your support

We are only as strong as our next generation. Education, skills and experience are directly tied to future earning power, which in turn impacts family stability and economic development.

Tennessee ranks first in the nation for bankruptcies per capita. Chattanooga has higher poverty rates than the national average. Our education statistics speak for themselves - we must do better. These statistics, among others, show us direct correlations between poverty and lack of educational attainment, and they draw a picture of a trend that must be broken. It is clear improving education can impact many other issues that have a chronic negative impact on families and businesses.

Financial stress is one of the top reasons for divorce, as well as for college dropouts. By closing the education gap, we will see those living wage jobs filled by local candidates, and more families will be positioned to thrive in ways that go beyond their bank balances. This isn't a one-time, quick-fix that rests at the feet of any one person, family, school, company or administration. It's going to take everyone's help for a long time to make lasting, sustainable improvements. Please join me in supporting Chattanooga 2.0.

Mike Little's work urges vote for him

I have known Mike Little for many years, and I know him to be an intelligent, industrious and honest man. Mike Little is a good family man and a great father.

Mike Little worked in Hamilton Count Criminal Court, Division II, as bailiff and as such observed numerous trials and the proper way to be a wonderful judge.

Once Mike Little became an attorney, he worked very hard and diligently to represent his clients and did so successfully.

Mike Little would make a great and very fair judge. I would urge you to vote for Mike Little for Criminal Court judge on March 1.
