Incumbent U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais is ahead of challenger Grant Starrett in Tennessee's 4th Congressional District Republican primary.

It covers 16 counties and includes part of Bradley County and all of Meigs, Rhea, Marion, Grundy and Bledsoe counties but excludes Hamilton County, which is in the 3rd Congressional District.

Vote totals are as follows for Republicans:

Starrett: 19,382

Persley: 1,548

Faparusi: 464

Only one Democrat is running, Steven Reynolds. He has 10,984 votes.
