Berke taps Justin Holland for Administrator of Chattanooga Public Works Department

This week Mayor Andy Berke tapped Deputy Administrator of Public Works, Justin Holland, to take over the as Administrator of the Chattanooga Public Works Department, beginning immediately.

Holland is taking the helm a month after the former Administrator, Lee Norris, retired and took a new position as the director of General Services for Hamilton County government.

Holland has worked for the city since 2005 and was named Deputy Administrator of Public Works in August of 2013.

Before that, he worked as a Sanitation Manager for over five years and as a Safety & Training Coordinator from March 2005 to November 2007. He also held certification as a landfill operator from 2012 to 2015.

"Over the years, Justin has shown a passion for serving the City of Chattanooga and is committed to providing excellent essential services to citizens throughout our community," said Mayor Andy Berke.

"With a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, Justin will work hand-in-hand with our external partners and other City departments to ensure the City is making smart investments in infrastructure, cutting red tape to improve processes, and improving how we serve our constituents."

Holland was also named American Public Works Association Young Leader of the Year in 2011 and serves as the APWA Region Director as well as the Treasurer for the Tennessee Chapter of Solid Waste Association of North America.
