NASHVILLE - Republican Gov. Bill Haslam travels to West Tennessee on Wednesday to promote his Insure Tennessee program that would use federal Medicaid funds to extend health insurance coverage to an estimated 200,000 low-income Tennesseans.

With a special session of the Tennessee Legislature slated for Feb. 2, Haslam will participate in a morning discussion of his "market-driven" approach in a Jackson forum at West Tennessee Healthcare/Medical group.

Later in the afternoon, the governor will be in Memphis for another Insure Tennessee discussion at Christ Community Health Services Frayser Health Center.
