A local attorney has received a public censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
According to a release from the board, Richard Korsakov "failed to diligently represent a client in a divorce action and failed to adequately communicate with his client during the representation."
Korsakov failed to appear for a scheduled hearing which resulted in an adverse ruling against his client.
The release says a public censure is a rebuke and warning, but does not affect the attorney's ability to practice law.
