Georgia football coach Mark Richt announced Sunday that he has awarded scholarships to seven players, including redshirt junior receiver Rhett McGowan and redshirt junior cornerback Blake Sailors.

McGowan is from Calhoun High School and had seven catches for 84 yards and a touchdown last year, including one reception in the comeback win over Florida and two in the SEC championship game loss to LSU. Sailors grew up on Signal Mountain before moving to Athens and tallied nine tackles and a forced fumble last season.

Sailors and redshirt junior tailback Brandon Harton have been awarded scholarships for a second straight season. Harton had 23 carries for 101 yards in last November's 19-10 win over Kentucky, a victory that clinched Georgia's first East Division title since 2005.

Also earning scholarships are redshirt freshman fullback Merritt Hall, who continues to work with the first team, redshirt sophomore safety Connor Norman, redshirt sophomore linebacker Kosta Vavlas and junior cornerback Luis Capella. Norman is practicing as the backup free safety to Bacarri Rambo.
