T.J. Williams followed a recent trend of announcing his decision on where to continue his college career on Twitter.

"I'M GOING TO BE A MOC!" Williams wrote n his account.

And its true. Williams, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Wilmington, N.C., gave University of Tennessee at Chattanooga coach John Shulman a verbal commitment.

"After taking my official visit and seeing the campus and being around the players, it seemed like the best fit for me," Williams said. "I can't wait to be a part of the program. I want to come in and play with players who love the game too."

Williams initially gave a verbal commitment to Shulman on Aug. 24. But the two had spoken just once and Williams hadn't set foot on campus. So he re-opened his recruitment - until Wednesday.

"It was an early decision. It was a gut decision," Williams said. "Once I went and checked it out and made sure, I knew."

Williams said he averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds per game while playing for coach Bryn McSwain at Eugene Ashley High School in Wilmington, N.C.

Williams joins point guard Jonathan Stark and power forward Christian Kennedy as early-period commitments to UTC.

"I'm really dominant inside," said Williams, who purchased a long-sleeved UTC t-shirt yesterday evening. "I need to improve my ball-handling. The outside things are what I need to work on."
