It's not the time of year to be making drastic on-the-court changes.
But that's what University of Tennessee at Chattanooga basketball coach John Shulman is doing in the six days off between the Mocs' 77-69 loss at UNC Greensboro last Sunday and their game at Georgia Southern on Saturday.
He's going to play a lot more zone defense.
Shulman said UTC played 17 possessions -- more than 25 percent of the game -- in a 2-3 zone against the Spartans and stopped them on 11 of those possessions.
"I thought we played pretty good defensively," Shulman said. "Having to juggle and switch things almost in February is not a good time. Can't do anything about it. We're going to have to be creative.
"We're going to spend a lot of time putting in new wrinkles offensively and new wrinkles defensively this week."

Hampton decision today?
UTC coach John Shulman said a decision about the future Mocs career of senior guard Dontay Hampton likely will come today.
Hampton reinjured his surgically repaired right knee Thursday on the last play before halftime at Elon and did not play Sunday at UNC Greensboro.
"We had a doctor's appointment yesterday that went below average," Shulman said Tuesday. "I'll say it doesn't look good. But I can't tell you exacts until the doctor reads the MRI and he's with 'Tay."
