The postseason honors continue to roll in for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team as two seniors were named to the Associated Press Football Championship Subdivision All-America teams. Defensive end Davis Tull was a first-team pick, and tight end Faysal Shafaat was named to the third team.
This is Tull's third time to earn AP All-America honors, and second-straight year to be on the first team. He was on the second team after his sophomore season. This year the three-time Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year led the league with 10.5 sacks and has a league-record 37 for his career.
Earlier this week Tull was also named to the American Football Coaches Association All-American team. He was one of only two three-time members of that team, which is voted on by FCS coaches.
Shafaat, who was also first-team All-SoCon, had 34 catches for 413 yards and five touchdowns this season. This is his second All-American honor this season after having earned third-team recognition from College Sports Madness.
Those two players were instrumental in helping the Mocs to their best season in program history, winning 10 games and reaching the playoff quarterfinals.
