Lady Vols top LSU in SEC tourney

Tennessee upset fourth-seeded host LSU in the Southeastern Conference softball tournament Thursday night, 7-5, in Baton Rouge, La.

That moved the fifth-seeded Lady Vols into a 5:30 p.m. EDT game today against top-seeded Florida, which South Carolina 10-1 in five innings Thursday.

Tennessee's two Chattanoogans again had parts in the victory. Center fielder Tory Lewis from Girls Preparatory School went 2-for-3 and Shaliyah Geathers from East Hamilton had an RBI for the Lady Vols (41-13). Each had a double.

Megan Geer and Meghan Gregg each homered and singled, Taylor Koenig also homered, Rainey Gaffin and Koenig had two RBIs apiece and Lexi Overstreet had two hits and scored twice in the victory. Bianka Bell homered, doubled and batted in two runs for LSU (44-11).
