UTC quarterback Jacob Huesman named SoCon Offensive Player of the Year

For the third consecutive season, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga quarterback Jacob Huesman was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year when the awards were released this morning.

A total of 17 players from UTC were honored by being named all-conference by either the coaches or the media. Aside from Huesman, offensive lineman Corey Levin was named the Jacobs Blocking Award winner for the second consecutive season.

Running back Derrick Craine, defensive lineman Keionta Davis and linebacker Nakevion Leslie were named first team by both the coaches and the media. Safety Lucas Webb was a first-team selection by the media and second by the coaches, as was offensive lineman Synjen Herren.

Safety Cedric Nettles and kicker Henrique Ribeiro were both first-team selections by the coaches.

Josh Freeman was second team by both the coaches and the media.

Defensive lineman Toyvian Brand, linebacker A.J. Hampton, cornerback Dee Virgin and return specialist C.J. Board were second-team selections by the coaches.

Defensive lineman Isaiah Mack, safety Montrell Pardue and cornerback C.J. Fritz were all-freshmen picks.
