Alabama State report
The Hornets' season got off to a good start, with an upset win over Atlantic Coast Conference member Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. They lost by two points to Alabama-Birmingham in their second game before being blown out against Mercer. Waters leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists.
Key matchup
UTC's Mocs have talked about jumping out to early leads and have shown the ability to do so. Alabama State has been behind at halftime in each of its three contests, including trailing by 21 against Mercer in its last game. If the Mocs can score effectively and create turnovers early, they could break this one open quickly.
