UTC quarterback Jacob Huesman hits umpire Bill Ballard as he is tackled by Fordham defensive back J.Q. Bowers in the first half of the Mocs' FCS playoff football game against Fordham at Finley Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, in Chattanooga, Tenn.

SATURDAY'S STAR

Quarterback Jacob Huesman had 340 yards of total offense and three passing touchdowns. He had 129 yards on 15 carries, including a 52-yard run in the second quarter that led to a field goal, and completed 17 of his 25 passes for 211 yards and the three scores, which tied a season high.

SATURDAY STAT

The Mocs scored 50 points in giving coach Russ Huesman his 50th career win. The seventh-year leader of the Mocs is 50-32 in his career, and Saturday's win gave Fordham a loss in its first game south of the Mason-Dixon line since 1979.

THE BIG PLAY

Richardre Bagley found a great opportunity for his first touchdown of the year, on UTC's opening possession. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound sophomore took a handoff and sprinted straight up the middle, then turned and rushed straight to the sideline to celebrate with his teammates.

THE TURNING POINT

Fordham had used a big play to get deep into UTC territory late in the first quarter, but on a third-down play, the Mocs employed a new blitz and Lucas Webb stepped in front of Rams quarterback Kevin Anderson's pass and ran 71 yards for the score that gave UTC a 21-0 lead before the end of the first quarter.

WHAT IT MEANS

Another chance at Jacksonville State. The Mocs lost by three points to the Gamecocks in the season opener and have lost three straight in the series. This is the opportunity UTC wanted when the playoff draws were announced, and it will get the chance to spoil the top-ranked Gamecocks' season and continue their own this Saturday.
