KNOXVILLE -- Tennessee is trying to figure out what went wrong after another loss.

The Volunteers suffered a 24-20 defeat to Arkansas at Neyland Stadium on Saturday night, which dropped Butch Jones's home SEC record to 2-7.

Here's a recap of the key numbers and moments.

SATURDAY'S STAR

It's hard to pick one for Tennessee. The Vols ground to a halt offensively in the second half as Arkansas sold out to stop Jalen Hurd and Tennessee couldn't make enough plays in the pass game. Drops plagued the Vols. Tennessee missed too many tackles and gave up two 100-yard rushers. On special teams, Tennessee missed a short field goal and had a punt-return touchdown wiped out by penalty.

SATURDAY'S STAT

Tennessee couldn't get much going and only had 90 yards of offense in the second half, and Arkansas dominating the time of possession -- as the Razorbacks are known to do -- was a big reason why. The Vols only had eight minutes and three seconds of possession after halftime. Tennessee's four second-half drives ended in a field goal, two punts and an incompletion on fourth down.

TURNING POINT

Arkansas did its best to keep Tennessee within four points by having a short field goal blocked and electing to try a fake that failed instead of another short kick. The Vols did nothing with the generosity, though. Tennessee's slim hopes ended after Josh Dobbs's fourth-down long ball for Josh Malone fell incomplete. Collins picked up the one first down the Hogs needed to seal it.

HIGHLIGHT PLAY

It was the first one for the Vols. Evan Berry hit a seam in Tennessee's kickoff return team at full speed and found open space with only the kicker in front of him. The sophomore delivered an excellent stiff-arm and raced the rest of the way on his 96-yard touchdown. It was his second of the season as Berry continues to provide a nice spark for Tennessee in the return game.

WHAT IT MEANS

Tennessee is staring at taking a 2-5 record to Kentucky on Halloween unless something changes. The Vols host Georgia next week, and the Bulldogs are coming off a 28-point beatdown against Alabama. Tennessee has an open date before going to Alabama. The negativity that's built around the program after the collapses against Oklahoma and Florida is only going to increase after another loss.

BY THE NUMBERS

90: After ringing up 275 yards of offense in the first half, Tennessee's offense sputtered in the second half. The Vols had just 61 yards in the third quarter and 90 in the second half in a mirror of the second half of the loss to Oklahoma. Tennessee had three chances down 24-20 and punted twice and had another drive end on fourth down.

275: The run-first Razorbacks chewed up yards on the ground against Tennessee's defense. Arkansas finished with 275 rushing yards, easily the most the Vols have allowed this season. Tennessee entered the game ranked eighth in the SEC in 52nd nationally allowing 145.8 yards per game. The Vols gave up 124 rushing yards to Bowling Green, 161 to Oklahoma, 189 to Western Carolina and 109 to Florida.

2-7: That is Tennessee coach Butch Jones's career record in games tied at halftime. Two of those losses came at Tennessee. The Vols were tied 7-7 with Vanderbilt and lost 14-10 in 2013. Last season, Tennessee and Missouri were tied at 13 at the break, but the Tigers went on to win 29-21.

154: Arkansas had 258 yards of offense in the first half thanks to four big plays. Runs of 44 and 25 yards by Rawleigh Wiliams and Alex Collins and catches of 52 yards by Drew Morgan and 33 yards by Dominique Reed accounted for 154 yards. On the Razorbacks' other 29 first-half plays, they gained 104 yards.

1980: Evan Berry became the first Tennessee player to return multiple kickoffs for touchdowns in the same season since Willie Gault returned three for scores in 1980. Berry's 96-yard return touchdown to open Saturday night's game also was the first on an opening kickoff since 1980. Gault returned one 92 yards against Kentucky that season.
