The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's golf team rose from a tie for ninth place to third in the final round Tuesday of the Cardinal Cup at Simpsonville, Ky. The Mocs' 294 matched winning host Louisville for the best round of the day. UTC wound up at 895, 17 shots behind the Cardinals and six behind second-place Florida State. Emily McLennan closed with a 70 for a sixth-place tie at 220, and Megan Woods shot a 71 for a 222 and a tie for 14th, while Isabella Loza tied for 19th at 224.

* Led by medalist Caroline Moore and two other top-eight individuals, the Lee University women's golf team won the LeeAnn Noble Memorial tournament Monday and Tuesday at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga. Moore shot a 1-under-par 143, while Sam Burrus shot 150 and tied for fifth, joining Moore on the all-tournament team, and Bernadette Little was eighth at 152. Callie Kitchens tied for 19th at 164.

* The Lee men's golfers were fourth out of 15 teams in the TVA Credit Union Invitational at Killen, Ala., with a 54-hole 890 on the Turtle Point course. Limestone won with an 877. Lee's Shea Sylvester tied for 15th individually at 221, while Peyton Sliger shared 20th at 223. Adam Wright shot 226 and Taylor Davis and Matt Strube had 227s for the Flames.

* The Dalton State men's golf team finished its fall schedule by finishing third at 879 in the Chick-fil-A Collegiate tournament at Stonebridge Golf Club near Rome, Ga. The Roadrunners' 287 round Tuesday was the day's best. Host Berry College was the team champion and had the medalist at 209, Ryan Elmore. Dalton State's Sean Elliott tied for seventh at 217, Adam Morris was ninth at 218, Levi Nix tied for 13th at 223 and Chase Jones tied for 16th at 226.

Volleyball

* Bryan College's Kara Stamper and Shelby Grace Enochs repeated as the Appalachian Athletic Conference volleyball attacker and setter of the week, respectively. That is the fourth time this season for Enochs and the third for Stamper, who had 22, 12 and 17 kills while Enochs was contributing 44, 36 and 45 assists and 10, nine and 11 digs in the first-place Lady Lions' three wins last week. Bryan (19-13, 13-2) won 3-0 Tuesday night at sixth-place Tennessee Wesleyan (10-12, 8-7), by scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

* The Covenant College volleyball team rallied Tuesday night from a 16-12 deficit in the fourth set to win 3-2 at Piedmont and earn its 11th consecutive USA South victory. Schuyler Moore had 57 assists and nine kills while Morgan Opgenorth, Ginny Moore and Chelsea VanDyk had 17, 16 and 14 kills in the 25-19, 19-25, 24-26, 25-19, 15-12 win for the Lady Scots (13-9, 11-1). Ginny Moore and Ariana Buchanan had 20 and 19 digs, and Jaclyn Stuart and Hannah Stewart added 13 and 12.

* Catherine Conley had nine kills and Hillary Hoffpauir had 14 assists for Lee in a 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-13) Gulf South volleyball loss Tuesday night at Union in Jackson, Tenn. Lee is 8-12, 4-7.

* Dalton State won its third consecutive volleyball match Tuesday at home against Truett-McConnell, 3-0, as Kianna Delaney registered 15 kills and Michala Askew had 35 assists. Anna Metzler and Olivia Keegan had 12 and 10 digs in the 25-17, 25-21, 25-23 win for the Roadrunners (10-10, 4-6 SSAC).

Soccer

* Bryan freshman Rafael Mentzingen was the AAC men's soccer offensive player of the week with two goals including the game-winner in each of the Lions' wins (2-0 and 5-1) in a 2-0 week. He is tied for first in the league with 10 goals.

* Dalton State lost 2-1 Tuesday night in SSAC men's soccer at Middle Georgia State. DSC (10-5-1, 3-3) scored on an own goal. The Knights (5-9, 2-2) scored the winning goal in the 85th minute.

* The local Premier Soccer Academy's Los Guapos under-16 boys' team beat Tupelo Futbol United 00, ranked No. 3 in Mississippi, 3-1 in the championship match of the Kicks Invitational tournament this past weekend in Huntsville, Ala. Los Guapos went 3-0-1 in their age group, tying fellow Tennessee team FC Alliance TSL2 1-1 and winning 2-1 over the Huntsville FC 00 Blue and 3-0 over the Huntsville FC 01 Blue.
