Alabama defensive line coach Bo Davis is expected to resign or be fired due to an inquiry into possible recruiting violations, the Tuscaloosa News reported Thursday afternoon.

According to the paper, the university has been conducting an internal investigation and the NCAA has made inquiries as well.

Davis was on Nick Saban's original Alabama staff in 2007 and remained through the 2010 season before leaving for Texas. He returned to the Crimson Tide in 2014 and this past season had the deepest and most dominant defensive line in the country.

This past season, Davis made $475,000 after receiving a $25,000 raise in June. His contract runs through the 2017 season.
