Georgia's football recruiting efforts did not take the holiday weekend off, as the Bulldogs received a nonbinding pledge from cornerback Latavious Brini of Hialeah, Fla.

Brini is the 12th commitment for Georgia's 2017 signing class and the second from the Sunshine State, joining St. Petersburg receiver Matt Landers.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Brini is the ninth four-star prospect for the Bulldogs according to 247Sports.com, which ranks him as the nation's No. 31 corner.

Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State and LSU were among the Deep South's tradition-rich programs to offer scholarships to Brini, who also had offers from national powers such as Notre Dame and Southern California.

The Bulldogs have the nation's No. 6 class of commitments, according to 247Sports, trailing only Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan and LSU.

Georgia's class so far is headlined by the in-state tandem of Hinesville safety Richard LeCounte III (the No. 37 overall prospect nationally) and Warner Robins quarterback Jake Fromm (No. 41).

Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Florida State and Miami round out the top 10 in the latest 247Sports team rankings for 2017, with Tennessee checking in at 11th.

The Volunteers had a former commitment, receiver Tee Higgins of Oak Ridge, announce Monday that he was committing to Clemson. The 6-5, 190-pounder is rated the No. 3 receiver and No. 15 prospect overall by 247Sports.
