Chattooga High School in Summerville, Ga., is hosting a football combine and showcase Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The combine will involve NUC and area coaches and include testing, agility evaluation, position evaluation and one-on-one and two-on-two competitions for skill-position players and linemen in grades 6-11. Tests will include 40-yard dash, vertical jump, shuttle and broad jump. Awards will be given at each grade level. - Wardy Polanco drove in five runs and scored three and Omar Gomez and Chevis Hoover added four and three RBIs as the Tennessee Wesleyan College baseball team defeated Sterling 14-4 in an NAIA World Series game that ended about 12:20 Eastern time this morning in Lewiston, Idaho. The second-seeded Bulldogs (49-13) play today at 6 p.m. EDT against No. 3 seed Bellevue (52-10) of Nebraska. Ryan Hartman pitched the first five innings for TWC against Sterling (51-15) and allowed four hits and one earned run with six strikeouts in improving his season record to 10-0. Polanco had a three-run home run and Hoover a two-run blast in the Bulldogs' six-run third inning, and Polanco added a two-run single between two-run homers by Alfred Cruz and Gomez in their six-run fifth. Gomez was 3-for-4 and matched Sully Rios Reyes and Malik Stephens with two runs scored. TWC outhit the Kansas team 17-9.
