The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's basketball program received its second commitment for the 2017 signing class when guard Terry Nolan Jr. gave his nonbinding pledge to join the team.

On his 18th birthday, Nolan thanked all the schools that recruited him, as well as his family for "building him up to be the man he is today," as he tweeted Saturday evening.

"With all that being said, I feel as though Coach (Matt) McCall and (Kevin) Easley have my best interest and that this was the best fit for me," he said. "I feel this will be my stepping stone and best option to reach my goals, basketball, academically and when the ball stops bouncing, Chattanooga will get me to be where I need to be. With all that being said, I am fully committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga #Mocs #UTC."

The 6-foot-3 guard, who preps at Mount Carmel in Essex, Md., was named to the all-Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association team as a junior. He also earned Baltimore Catholic League second-team honors and honorable mention all-state.

He chose the Mocs over Murray State, Southern Utah and Boston University. He also held offers from Southern Utah, Delaware, Northeastern, NJIT, Loyola (Md.), Quinnipiac, Siena and Towson.

Nolan joins 6-6 forward Eric Turner as commitments for the 2017-18 season. In addition, the Mocs will add transfers Andrew Fleming and Makinde London to the roster. Both are redshirting this season after transferring - Fleming from Iowa and London from Xavier.
