SEPT. 2

APPALACHIAN STATE

6:15 p.m., Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

TV/Radio: ESPN/102.3 FM

Best game in series: The Bulldogs and Mountaineers have met just once before, with Georgia applying a 45-6 mauling in November 2013. Appalachian State pulled one of the greatest upsets in college football history with its 34-32 stunning of Michigan to open the 2007 season, and the Mountaineers nearly knocked off Tennessee in last year's opener but fell 20-13 in overtime.

SEPT. 9

NOTRE DAME

7:30 p.m., Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, Ind.

TV/Radio: NBC/102.3 FM

Best game in series: The only previous meeting between Georgia and Notre Dame took place in the Sugar Bowl after the 1980 season, with the Bulldogs entering 11-0 and No. 1 in the country and the Irish 9-1-1 and trying to play the role of spoiler. Herschel Walker capped his fabulous freshman season by rushing 36 times for 150 yards and two touchdowns as Georgia prevailed 17-10 to win the national title.

SEPT. 16

SAMFORD

7:30 p.m., Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

TV/Radio: SEC Network Alternate/102.3 FM

Best game in series: This will be the first meeting between the Bulldogs of the Southeastern Conference and the Bulldogs of the Southern Conference, and Samford is certain to have Georgia's attention after the Bulldogs escaped their Championship Subdivision foe last season, Nicholls State, 26-24. Georgia had waxed its previous two FCS foes (Southern and Charleston Southern) by a combined 103-15.

SEPT. 23

MISSISSIPPI STATE

TBA, Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: Georgia holds a 17-6 series edge but nearly suffered one of its most embarrassing setbacks at Starkville in 1988. Vince Dooley's Bulldogs were ranked No. 7, while Rockey Felker's Bulldogs were on their way to a 1-10 record. MSU quarterback Tony Shell threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns in his first college game, but a Tim Worley score with 17 seconds left enabled Georgia to escape 42-35.

SEPT. 30

TENNESSEE

TBA, Neyland Stadium, Knoxville

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: This series was deadlocked at 21-21-2 before Tennessee took the last two. Georgia's 16-15 triumph in Walker's debut game in 1980 is forever a classic, but the most thrilling victory for the Bulldogs was David Greene's touchdown toss to Verron Haynes for a 26-24 win in 2001. Tennessee's most dramatic series win took place last year on the "Hail Mary" from Josh Dobbs to Jauan Jennings.

OCT. 7

VANDERBILT

TBA, Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: The Commodores are 2-2 in the last four meetings, but Georgia still holds a 55-20-2 series advantage. The most thrilling and entertaining encounter between these two remains the 2011 matchup, when Georgia won 33-28 after the Commodores blocked a late Drew Butler punt and threw for the end zone as time ran out. Then James Franklin and Todd Grantham reached midfield to exchange not-so-pleasantries.

OCT. 14

MISSOURI

TBA, Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: Georgia has won five of the six meetings against the Tigers, including last year's 28-27 thriller at Mizzou. Then-freshman Bulldogs quarterback Jacob Eason led the offense on a 10-play, 90-yard drive that culminated with a fourth-and-10 touchdown pass to Isaiah McKenzie that covered 20 yards with 1:29 remaining. McKenzie had three touchdowns, while Eason went 29-of-55 for 308 yards with three scores.

OCT. 28

FLORIDA

3:30 p.m., EverBank Field, Jacksonville

TV/Radio: CBS/102.3 FM

Best game in series: This rivalry could use a new photo finish, with the Gators having taken the last three meetings by the average score of 30-11. Georgia's lead in the all-time series has been trimmed to 50-43-2. The most memorable contest in this border war remains the 1980 clash, when Buck Belue's 93-yard touchdown pass to Lindsay Scott kept Georgia on track to capture its lone Associated Press national title.

NOV. 4

SOUTH CAROLINA

TBA, Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: The Gamecocks and Bulldogs are evenly split in their past 10 encounters, with Georgia's 28-14 triumph last season occurring on a Sunday due to the effects of Hurricane Matthew. The best game in this series was in 2011, when South Carolina came to Athens and won 45-42 behind the rushing of Marcus Lattimore and a monster defensive play from freshman Jadeveon Clowney.

NOV. 11

AUBURN

TBA, Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Ala.

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: Auburn led the Deep South's oldest rivalry 53-48-8 a dozen years ago, but Georgia now holds the 57-55-8 edge after winning nine of the last 11, including last season's 13-7 upset of the No. 9 Tigers. Auburn's 43-38 victory in 2013, which was quickly named "The Prayer in Jordan-Hare," remains the wildest game between these two, as Aaron Murray was absolutely brilliant in defeat.

NOV. 18

KENTUCKY

TBA, Sanford Stadium, Athens, Ga.

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: The Bulldogs have won seven straight over the Wildcats and hold an overwhelming 56-12-2 series advantage, though last year's 27-24 escape at Kentucky certainly was the closest in this run. Most of the entertaining games between these two have occurred in Lexington, including Georgia's 28-26 triumph in 1998 after a duel between quarterbacks Quincy Carter and Tim Couch.

NOV. 25

GEORGIA TECH

TBA, Bobby Dodd Stadium, Atlanta

TV/Radio: TBA/102.3 FM

Best game in series: Georgia holds a 65-40-5 series edge, with the Yellow Jackets having won two of the last three. Georgia Tech has not topped its state rival inside Bobby Dodd Stadium since 1999, which was the infamous Jasper Sanks fumble game. That was the most memorable Tech win of the modern era, while Georgia's was the 29-28 victory in 1978 with Amp Arnold and Scott Woerner.
