Alejandro Bennifield and Lucas Webb recently attended other schools' football pro days.

Tuesday's just meant more.

They were among the former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football players competing in the UTC pro day at the D1 Sports Training Complex, in front of a number of professional scouts.

"I think they did a great job," UTC coach Tom Arth said of the group. "In my conversation with the scouts, what they were really impressed with was the way they overcame the adversity of having to be indoors. It wasn't an ideal surface, but nobody made excuses, nobody complained - they just went out there, worked hard and performed and did a really good job."

The event was moved from Finley Stadium to D1 due to bad weather.

Safety Webb recently participated in Alabama's pro day. Bennifield went to Knoxville on Monday and competed in Tennessee's. The former Mocs quarterback, who threw for 2,622 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior before a suspension and an injury left him with only 15 snaps as a senior, ran a 4.8-second 40-yard dash Monday in Knoxville and threw well on both days.

"A lot of the scouts were impressed," Bennifield said. "The only thing I'm concerned about is impressing the guys that can possibly get me in the NFL. That's why everyone is here, hoping to get a foot in the door. No one here is a No. 1 pick, so we have a chip on our shoulder because we're behind."

Former linebacker Dale Warren missed the first six games of the 2017 season due to a violation of NCAA rules but ran in the 4.5 range in the 40 and had 19 bench-press repetitions of 225 pounds. Receiver Alphonso Stewart was solid as well in pass-catching drills while Tae Davis ran in the 4.5-4.6 range in the 40 and showed well in some coverage drills. Dy'Kari Hickey ran a 4.4 in the 40, had a 37-inch vertical jump and also performed well in pass-catching drills.

Running backs Richardre Bagley and Darrell Bridges, offensive lineman Josh Cardiello, defensive linemen Taylor Reynolds and D.J. Prather and fullback Chris Jones also had solid days. Prather and Reynolds each did 22 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

Webb said afterward that having been at both Alabama's as well as UTC's pro days, there's a different hunger that comes from being at the latter - not just simply because of the Chattanooga players being his former teammates, but also because of nothing being taken for granted by UTC players that have more riding on the one day.

"When you're there, you really just have to be focused," Webb said. "Alabama was a whole different atmosphere, but really there's a mutual respect, because everyone is there for a reason. You're there to show what you've got and you've got to hold your own. It's a feeling of, 'Yeah, we're here, we're all good, but I'm doing what I can to make myself stand out, too.'"
