NBA playoffs

photo Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap (4) and Brooklyn Nets forward Joe Johnson (7) reach for a rebound during their Game 2 of a first-round NBA playoff basketball playoff series, Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in Atlanta.

The Hawks sprinted to a 2-0 lead, and the Spurs battled to even their series with the Clippers with a 111-107 overtime victory.

There are three Game 3s tonight as Cleveland visits Boston, Chicago goes to Milwaukee and Golden State heads to New Orleans. Those visiting teams each hold a 2-0 lead.

As for what is shaping up to be the best series in the first round, the Spurs did a lot of things we have come to expect from the Spurs. Their superior bench and the ageless Tim Duncan pulled out a win despite Manu Ginobili fouling out and Tony Parker injuring his leg.

They also managed to escape a triple-double from Blake Griffin and needed DeAndre Jordan's 6-of-17 showing from the foul line to snatch home-court advantage.

Good times and this will be an excellent series.

Bonds cleared

The U.S. Appeals court overturned Barry Bonds' conviction of obstruction.

It took 11 years for the ruling and one that Bonds greeted with great joy.

This leaves us with two questions:

First how much money and time was wasted by the judicial system trying to get Bonds' dismissive testimony to stick as a crime?

Secondly, while the circumstantial evidence is overwhelming - Bonds was a monster physically 15 years after entering the league - there was never a failed PED test or admission from Bonds. So how will history view him in 10 years?

Draft talk

Tip of the visor to Arizona Cardinals GM Steve Kiem for his direct and truthful assessment of the view of prospects in the NFL draft.

Kiem told reporters that if Hannibal Lector ran a 4.3 40, the phrasing would be that the cannibal killer from the movie "Silence of the Lambs" would have "an eating disorder."

It's hard to argue with his honesty.

We are a week from the first round - we love the draft, you know this - and the moving pieces are starting to pick up speed.

As TFP all-around ace David Paschall told us today Georgia running back Todd Gurley is sprinting up draft boards.

We have all heard the narrative about the value of running backs in today's football, but we believe Gurley is a huge talent.

Todd McShay now has Gurley going No. 6 overall to the New York Jets in his mock draft.

This and that

- Never ceasing to amaze, one fan sent a manifesto to an Eagles player that the NFL was secretly working to keep Tim Tebow out of the league because it's part of the New World Order. Not sure if that's the religious movement or the former wrestling power group.

-Also from the files of NFL craziness, TMZ has the police video of Warren Sapp after he was arrested in Arizona for solicitation. For adult eyes only please.

- San Francisco is trying to ban smokeless tobacco at public parks. We dipped for more than 20 years before quitting cold turkey almost five years ago. It was tough and we're super glad it's no longer a part of daily life. Still, we always wondered why people bagged on smokeless tobacco users who are adults. It's not affecting you. Is it gross? You bet. Is it unhealthy? Yes. But you are getting into a very grey area when you let what others determine as unsightly to be a guideline for universal rules. So it goes.

- There are a slew of prop bets for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight covering almost everything this side of what Justin Bieber will be wearing. Here's a look.
