Ex-Lion Adkins stars for MTSU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Middle Tennessee State junior pitcher Hunter Adkins from Red Bank High School pitched a nine-inning shutout in a 4-0 baseball win Friday against Ohio University. "I felt great out there," Adkins said after his first college shutout, an eight-hitter with no walks. "I was just trying to command the plate and not walk anybody. It was a pitcher's day with the wind blowing in, and I just tried ... to let my defense do the work." He was part of that defense with two putouts and seven assists.
