The USTA Southern Section adult mixed doubles tournament will be held in Chattanooga next weekend, and 92 teams with 668 players from nine states are expected for the competition at the Champions Club, Baylor and McCallie courts. The winners in each of 10 divisions (18-over 2.5, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0 and 40-over 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0) will advance to USTA national tournaments in Arizona next month. Both players on each 2.5 team must have that NTRP rating; in the other categories the man's and the woman's combined rating cannot exceed the listed level. The sectional will begin Friday with a round-robin format; flight winners will meet Sunday for the championships. "We are very pleased to bring one of our largest sectional competitions back to Chattanooga after many years," Dene Owen, the USTA Southern managing director of adult events, said in a release.
