The Georgia Region 7-AAA tennis tournament will start Wednesday morning at Lakeshore Tennis Courts in Dalton.
It was originally scheduled for today but was postponed.
Heritage's boys and LaFayette's girls claimed the top seeds in the north sub-region, each with a 5-0 record. Dalton is the second seed in both boys and girls. LaFayette's Lady Ramblers (10-1) will start off the tournament against Pickens, while Heritage's Generals (10-0) will take on Murray County.
Allatoona is the top boys' and girls' seed in the south sub-region.
Quarterfinal winners will qualify for the Class AAA state playoffs, but only the region finalists will host while the third- and fourth-place finishers will travel.
Heritage captain Hadyn Fava is undefeated this season.
"He's stepped up," coach Darren Miller said. "The reason we're undefeated is because he is. Hadyn went to the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy over the summer and was able to go up against some great players.
"He's playing great right now; nobody can beat him."
Dalton's Catamounts (11-7, 4-1) have been right in the thick of things all season, their only region blemish a 3-2 loss to the Generals. Battling through injuries during the season, they have been through a series of streaks -- a four-match win streak to start the year, followed by a three-match losing streak, back-to-back wins, then consecutive losses. They then won four in a row before losses to Darlington and Chattanooga Christian. They take on Cedartown this afternoon at 2:30.
