Hadyn Bailey, a three-year starter in baseball at Soddy-Daisy, has signed scholarship papers with Cleveland State.

"He has done a tremendous job for us," Trojans coach Jared Hensley said. "Every time he steps on the field he does so with the idea of competing. He will challenge [opponents] regardless of who he's facing."

Bailey has a 6-1 pitching record this year and a 14-2 career record for Soddy-Daisy.

Ringgold defeated Cedartown 15-0 in a Region 7-AAA baseball game Thursday, giving Tigers coach Brent Tucker his 100th coaching victory at the school.

Slade Dale provided an offensive spark for the Tigers, who had a 12-run first inning. Dale hit for the cycle and batted in three runs.

Winning pitcher Corey Kafka threw a three-hitter in the four-inning game and had seven strikeouts. Ringgold improved to 23-4 overall and 20-2 in the region.
