Scott Cummings, who took Knoxville West to a state championship this past season, has been hired as the football coach at Cleveland.

He replaces Ron Crawford, who left Cleveland to return to Brentwood.

Knox West won the Class 5A state championship in December, besting Hillsboro 23-6, to finish a 14-1 season. West lost in Week 2 to Maryville before reeling off a 13-game win streak. That streak included a 35-28 playoff semifinal victory at Rhea County.
