Basketball tileThe TSSAA has canceled today's state tournament basketball games in Murfreesboro due to hazardous road conditions.
Today's games have been rescheduled for Friday beginning at noon EST to allow extra time for road conditions to improve. Semifinal games originally scheduled for Friday will start at 2:30 EST and the championship games will be played on Sunday.
"There is no way that we are willing to put any student-athlete's life in jeopardy in order to try to play a basketball game," said Bernard Childress, Executive Director of the TSSAA. "To us, the safety of the student-athletes, coaches, fans, and anyone attending or participating in the state basketball tournament is first and foremost."
