Prep Notebook: Baylor's Trey Freeman adds 400 free to 200 national title

Trey Freeman from Baylor School and the Baylor Swim Club earned his second 18-under title at the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships in Friday's 400-meter freestyle competition in Indianapolis. With it came his third Team USA spot at the FINA World Junior Championships set for Aug. 23-28 in Indy.

His worlds categories are the 200 and 400 free and the 4x200 free relay. The 17-year-old Freeman competes today in the 800 free.

Having won the junior title with his fourth-place B Final swim in the 200 free Wednesday, Freeman made the A Final and secured a top-two 18-under finish with his personal-best time of 3:50.91 in the 400 free preliminaries Friday. In the final against the meet's fastest men, he was seventh overall and best among the 18-unders in 3:51.99

Hogue to AAU nationals

Signal Mountain's Grace Hogue has qualified for the AAU nationals in 1-meter springboard diving and will be competing in North Carolina on July 22.
